How to Make Your Facebook App SSL Secure

Facebook recently determined that they wanted to go all “SSL-Only.” This shouldn't be new news to anyone but has been a pain to many operators that are hosting a Facebook App. We recognize this issue and are able to help you navigate through to success. We offer two options for using an SSL for your Facebook App.
The first option is setting up a Private SSL which is tied to your domain name. We offer these on our SSL Certificates page. We offer Domain Validated SSLs for $50 on this page and this is all you are really going to need to setup a secure Facebook App. Domain Validated SSLs are FREE with the Business and Enterprise (Windows) plans.
The second option is only available on our shared servers (i.e. Shared and Resellers) and requires a little more work to setup, but you can find all the information you needhere. The shared SSL certificate would have a HostGator domain in the URL instead of your domain name.
Once you have your URL of where your App is hosted, whether you are using a Private SSL or the Shared SSL, it is time to make sure it is setup properly on Facebook.
1.) Login to Facebook then go to https://developers.facebook.com
2.) Click on Apps
3.) Select the Facebook App
4.) Click on Edit Settings
5.) Update the Secure Canvas URL.
